The 16th tournament of "Go to Innovation" in Berlin

Luis Oh(Eunkuen Oh) 7D from Spain

Lee, Semi / 2014-02-03

There was a nice and interesting tournament in Berlin in November between Friday 22th and Sunday 24th. I like this tournament very much and intent to participate in it every year, because it has a wonderful facilities and good mood to play baduk.

This tournament consists of 8 rounds in total. It is very famous of  its special system to decide the order of prizes. In other words, it is decided not by the number of total wins but by the total winning scores of 8 games. So, one who wins 5 games with big scores can win the championship instead of another who wins 7 games with small scores.

If one wins a game by more than 40 points, he gets 100 scores and the opponent gets 0 score. And if one wins by half point, he gets 60 scores and the opponent 40 scores. Alike, if one wins by 15 points, he gets 75 scores and the opponent 25 scores. Finally, the total scores of each one should be 100.

There participated about 45 players.
After 8 rounds, Inseong Hwang 8d, a Korean player, won the glorious championship.
Lin Viktor 6d from Austria got the second prize and Lluis Oh 6d got the third prize.

The place of the tournament was very quiet to play and it had a nice and cheap
restaurant for players. In addition, from Saturday everyone could drink free draft beer as they wished. ^^

We all the participants are already waiting for the next year's "Go to Innovation" !
