The 40th Amsterdam International Go Tournament
(Thursday, June 2nd – Sunday, June 5th, 2011)

Since it will be the 40th edition of the Amsterdam Tournament we are planning on making it something special!         


Main Tournament

Tournament system: 6 rounds, McMahon, EGF General tournament rules apply

Time limit: 90 min. and 30 seconds byo-yomi

Rules: Japanese

Komi: 6½ points

Schedule

The programme for the Amsterdam Tournament consists of several activities of which the Main Tournament is the most important one. The time table on this page informs you about when things happen.

Wednesday

20.00 – 24.00 Informal welcome of early arrivers at the Amsterdam Go Club, at café “2 Klaveren” (location D on the map). You can eat something small and simple here or have dinner nearby and then play, drink and talk at this old and new location of the Amsterdam Go Club.

Thursday

11.00 – 14.30 Registration Main Tournament
14.45 – 15.00 Opening
15.00 – 19.00 Main 1st round
18.00 – 19.00 Lecture by professional Young Sun Yoon
20.00 – 24.00 Evening at go club GoOG in Amsterdam city centre (location C on the map). You can have dinner nearby (or maybe even at the club) and then play and drink informally at the club.

10.00 – 14.00 Main 2nd round

Registration: Thursday, June 2nd, 11:00 – 13:30 hrs. If you arrive after 13:30 hrs. you can register for round two after 14:30 hrs.

Tournament fee: We want to stimulate participants to preregister and pay their tournament fee before May 15th. If you do so, you can enter the tournament at a reduced fee. If you don’t, the fee will be higher. Participants under 18 or weaker than 10 kyu can join the tournament at half rates. See the table below (the fee also includes the fee for all other go activities during the event).
