s you may have heard, we have very exciting news that professional Baduk system begins in the US from this year! Its incredible and a blessing for world Baduk, because we can expect Baduk to be globalize by the new system in the near future. The beginning of great history was held at Korea Cultural Center of Los Angeles on last April 28~29.

KBA(Korea Baduk Association) and KABA(Korea Amateur Baduk Association) are supporting AGA (America Go Association) very actively to promote Baduk. And as part of that, so amazing top Korean Baduk professional players, Cho Hun Hyeon pro 9dan, Yu Chang Hyeok pro 9dan, Yang Je Ho pro 9dan(the president of KBA), Kim Myong Wan pro 9dan, Kim Hyo Jeong pro 2dan visited there to give some Simon Games and lectures to participants.

The participants were categorized according to their level. There were many groups of competition for each level and the 1st AGA-TygemBaduk pro prelim for California area too. All of them played 5 rounds on Switzerland system and in extra time, they enjoyed Simon Games and commentaries. Calvin Sun 6dan won pro prelim which attracted the most of interest and he got qualification to join the AGA¡¯s first-ever professional certification tournament, which will be held at the Go Congress this summer in North Carolina with Curtis Tang, the runner up.
