Vintage Japanese Go Baduk Stones & Baduk Boards - Hyuga and Nachi Pieces

09-21-2014 07:21

I own a Korean gift store that has been open for over 50 years.I need help identifying some Go stones I have in stock that were made in Japan. These Go stones have been in my store for decades.I have a new set of Japanese Go Stones that I believe are made from real Nachi black slate stone and real Hyuga clam shells. The Go stones are still in the original boxes. The pieces are 23 mm in diameter by 9 mm in thickness. The white pieces are not pure white, they are more of a soft milk white with thin brown lines in a few of the white pieces.I believe these Go stones are at least 40 years old, maybe older.I have attached some photos of the Go stones and the boxes they came in.Could you please help me to identify these Go stones? Can you tell me what Japanese company made these Go stones?Do you have an approximate value for these Go stones.I also have a couple of nice Korean Baduk boards. How can you tell if a board is made from Kaya wood? How can you tell if a board is made from Aganthis wood?

Any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated....

Thank you very much.
