Opponent left during his turn, but I lost on time?

Hi!

Today I played 2 games against heiwago on the Japan 1 server.
I won the first game and accepted to play a rematch. When it looked like I could be winning again, the opponent suddenly left during his turn, thus saying "Quit Playing" in the title bar.
As I couldn't find him via the search, I supposed he was disconnected ad waited for him to return. After a few minutes I decided to leave (the PC, not the room) for a moment, as I still had more than 17 minutes left according to the clock.
However, when I returned, it suddenly said "White wins by time!", with my move (black) being the last one played.

What exactly happened there, and is there any way to fix it (and i.e. resume the game)?

Any help would be much appreciated.
