China's top star Guli 9P, was pity to be lost in Samsung Cup

There was severe competition in 2015 Samsung Cup, and many top players were competing for the round 16 ticket. There was last player who couldn't leave the playing room and kept reviewing his game with Shi Yue 9P. It is Guli 9P.

Even he is not No.1 player in China, he is still very top star in China. He is known to be an only rival of Lee Sedol 9P and had a death match last year.

Interview with Guli 9P.

- How things are going?

I don't feel good as I lost too many games. Except that, I think I am good. But I also lost leading game and it was then.

- You are starting a new life at the university. 

When I was young, I couldn't study at all as I focused on becoming pro. I think I can learn many things as I am still young.

- It could be disturbing for your Baduk?

I don't think I can improve my level by just studying Baduk a lot. Young players like under the 20s are much better than me recently.

- But there is no No.1 in China.

Young players fulfilled their life's goal at too early and they seem to be lost next direction. For every Baduk players, winning in tournament is a goal. But as it gets younger and younger, they seem to be lost next direction.

- Which country would be better bewteen Korea and China?

At least, they would be very closed in 5 years. Many players' level is very similar in both Korea and China.

- Who do you think very strong?

I think Park Junghwan 9P, Kim Jisuk 9P from Korea and Ke Je 9P from China. Others are very good but no difference at all. 

- What do you remember the most?

The death match with Lee Sedol 9P. I was so depressed to lose it last year.

- How do you overcome it?

I think time is only one. It is done by my hearts, I am trying to control my mind.

- Your idea about Lee Sedol 9P?

His condition is good recently. There are a lot of things I can learn from him. I was so supresied to find out that there was much stronger player than me in 2004 Samsung Cup.

- Would you want one more death match?

It can't be opened with my intention. I think very top two players should meet and their condition should be best. To do it, I need to make a lot of efforts then.
