[2022 Hangzhou Asian Game Korean Representative players’ selection]

For the 2022 Hangzhou Asian Game, baduk reappears.  It’s the second time, after Guangzhou competition, in 12 years. 

There are 3 gold medals in baduk, men’s individual, men’s team, and women’s team. 

12 years ago, Korea successfully earned 3 gold medals in straight, and Korea is aiming for 3 gold medals again in 2022 Hangzhou Asian Game. 

KBA is already preparing for straight gold medals, starting to select the representative players from last September. 

The coach of Korean national team “Mok” said “we will select the representative players with the total of 3 ways.  Firstly, the top2 rank players for men and women are automatically selected.  Plus, national team’s selection process, and the whole selection process. 

Right now, there are 18 men and 8 women in the Korean baduk national team.  Among them, two men and one woman are selected. 

Also, the whole selection process is held around March or April 2022.  In this selection process, another 2 men and 1 woman are selected. 

The coach “Mok” said “5 men and 3 women are participating in the team’s matches.  We will consider the players’ condition and set the orders tactically”.
